Smiley Tan graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Malaya. Her professional qualitification in Financial is Certified Financial Planner (CFP). During teenage, Smiley Tan witnessed how a lack of financial planning prevented many families from providing their children with better educational opportunities, ultimately limiting their potential for a brighter future. After graduating from the University of Malaya, she spent 15 years in the corporate world as a Head of Supply Chain. During this time, she noticed that many working professionals lacked financial literacy, which led to financial struggles when they started a family, faced illnesses, or experienced retrenchment. She also observed that many non-executives, executives, and managers did not have sufficient retirement savings due to inflation, overspending, and been scammed due to a lack of knowledge about proper investment tools. These realizations motivated her to transition into the financial services sector, with the goal of helping individuals, families, and businesses achieve financial security and a stable future. Smiley Tan has 20 years of experience in Personal Unit Trust Investment since 2005 and 12 years of experience in Property Investment and Management since 2013. She joined VKA in 2021, believing that her expertise could help more people achieve financial security and a comfortable retirement.
