About Jen Thong

Jen Thong is the Head of Life Business in VKA Wealth Planners, with significant experience in the field of insurance and financial planning over 18 years since 2002.

He graduated with a Masters Degree in Engineering & Economics from the prestigious University of Oxford in 2001 but after one year in his first job, turned his back on an Engineering career and ventured into financial services.

Throughout his career, he has qualified for numerous accreditations and awards in the organisations that he has been engaged with.

Practicing as a Licensed Financial Planner/Advisor (qualified with both RFP and Shariah RFP), he is a specialist in sourcing suitable coverage solutions from various Life Insurance and Takaful companies, while also assisting affluent clients in Wealth Management.

At the same time, he has enjoyed the privilege of giving talks about financial planning subjects at corporate organisations, medical conferences and financial planning career opportunities at universities. 

Occasionally, he would also contribute articles about financial or economic matters to local dailies.

On the social front, he was a founding Vice President of the KL Lions Finnamic Club, mainly assisting to organise charity activities for cancer children.
